plan lead organise and control. I have this experience working under a very strict person. He control me like nobody business.

I have to call him everytime I done something, found something, got something etc.

As a result, I would do the same thing to my subordinates. I call and call and call them everyday.

But I use different approach. I talk nicely.....and it works!

Since I am also a tutor with Open University Malaysia, I like to share my experience in the subject matter. Management is a very wide subject. But for the exam we have to master the module before anything else. But you are given the freedom to use any reference when preparing the assignment. Why keep to the module? Because [my own opinion] they are basic knowledge that we must know in this subject. All sub-topics are selected by panel of experts. Later after you are employed, you may want to apply any theory...is up to you. oopppss sorry, OUM students are working already ma. so if this is the case, forget how your boss manage because your boss is always right! OUM Tutor

Fees paid is small. It was still the same amount since 2004 [since I became tutor there]. No revision.  Read reports and OUM is making lot of profit every year. Unfortunately the cake is being shared by certain people only - permanent and contractual staff. The work horses? mmmmm But putting that aside, I still continue giving free advise to students who contacted me. Why free? Well because travelling to OUM to teach is not free. I have to fill in the tank with petrol and pay toll too. Although spending your week end at OUM is of course not money, but it is your quality time. So they say. So, if OUM asked me to teach like 'almost free', will give advise for free as well. its satisfaction that count. Its like my own CSR! Say what you like. Combination of experience, knowledge and academic qualification is very valuable.... therefore, we should only pay them 100/hr. And we limit their teaching hrs as well. Can't let them to earn more than 1200 rgt in a semester...
